A Sanctuary Should Look the Way It Feels
KCS serves Grace Cathedral, and we bring the same care to every congregation: respectful crews, specialty stone and hardwood floor programs, and turnarounds that keep pace with weddings, funerals, and weekly worship.
A place of worship carries a different weight than any other building we clean. The spaces are often historic, the finishes irreplaceable, and the calendar unforgiving — Sunday comes every week, and between services the same rooms host weddings, funerals, concerts, and community meals. KCS serves Grace Cathedral, and that work taught us how to operate in sacred spaces: crews who treat the sanctuary, altar area, and memorial spaces with respect, and who know which items are never to be moved without permission.
Sanctuary floors are usually the most demanding surface on the property. Marble and natural stone aisles need honing and polishing rather than coatings; historic hardwood needs finish-safe care; and carpeted naves collect candle wax, communion spills, and the traffic of hundreds of congregants. Floor care has been our specialty for over 14 years, and it's often the reason congregations call us first.
Beyond the sanctuary, we maintain fellowship halls, classrooms, offices, kitchens, and restrooms on a weekly rhythm timed to your worship schedule — and we handle event turnarounds, resetting a hall after a Saturday reception so it's ready for Sunday morning. Licensed, bonded, and insured, with pricing that respects a congregation's budget.
Challenges We Solve
Irreplaceable stone and hardwood floors
Sanctuary marble, terrazzo, and historic hardwood can be permanently damaged by the wrong products. Our floor crews use stone-appropriate honing and polishing and finish-safe hardwood care.
Tight event-to-service turnarounds
A Saturday wedding reception and a Sunday 8 a.m. service share the same rooms. We schedule turnaround cleans overnight or early morning so every service starts in a reset space.
Candle wax, communion spills, and pew grime
Wax on stone and carpet, juice stains near the altar, and hand oils on pew ends need specific removal techniques — not generic scrubbing that spreads the damage.
High, hard-to-reach dust
Ledges, sills, light fixtures, and ornamental woodwork collect dust that shows badly in morning light. Scheduled high-dusting keeps the sanctuary photo-ready for weddings and holidays.
Stretching a congregation's budget
Most congregations don't need nightly service. We build weekly or twice-weekly scopes around your worship and events calendar, with project work like floor restoration planned seasonally.

Churches & Places of Worship FAQs
Have you worked in historic or sacred spaces before?
Yes — KCS serves Grace Cathedral, and we clean other congregations across the region. Our crews are briefed on each space's protocols: which areas require special handling, which items are never moved, and how to work respectfully around clergy and staff.
Can you restore our sanctuary's marble or stone floors?
Stone care is one of our core specialties. We hone and polish marble, terrazzo, and natural stone to restore clarity without harsh coatings, then set a maintenance schedule so the aisle looks right for every service, wedding, and funeral.
How fast can you turn a hall around between events?
Typically overnight. A reception that ends Saturday at 10 p.m. can be swept, mopped, spot-cleaned, and reset before Sunday's first service. For back-to-back events we can schedule a crew on standby.
Do we need service every day?
Usually not. Most congregations do well with weekly or twice-weekly service timed after worship and major events, plus seasonal deep cleans and floor projects before Easter and Christmas. We scope to your calendar and budget.
How do you handle candle wax and communion stains?
Carefully and surface-by-surface: controlled wax removal from stone and carpet, enzyme treatment for organic stains, and immediate attention after major services so stains never set. Tell us what happened and where — we've almost certainly removed it before.
